The most popular attraction at Coat Aillis is undouthedly the 12 x 6m swimming pool and with its all weather cover guarantees continous use from April to the end of October .Its mode of operation can be seen from the photos below with the ability to swim in the worst of weather conditions with the roof closed. To the left of the photo can be seen the door to the sauna ,toilet and shower

Coat Aillis has an abundance of space for children to play swings and slides can be seen in the photo below and at the back of the orchard is a space reserved for football. For the less active inclined a genteel game of boule can be practised under the mimosa tree. The games room is a magnet for the young with the table tennis, pool table, babyfoot and an exciting corner of toys for the younger children. There is also a good selection of books ranging from fast action fiction to zen philosophy

The "Hygieau " water treatment system ( picture above ) consists of a filter made from resin which filters anything over 20 microns and removes excesses of added elements to the water (iron, aluminium nitrates managese chlorine) This changes the water from something which smells mildly toxic when you turn the tap on to an odourless cool drink (there is no need to buy bottled water when you stay at Coat Aillis ) The water is much softer and for washing purposes you must use half the reccommended dose otherwise the dish and washing machines will be a mass of froth and bubbles.

Each of us in the family notices different properties of the water, we all agree the water tastes much better, some say the coffee tastes better, Paulien says the washed clothes smell fresher and for myself I notice when you have a shower the water feels like a light oil and the skin has silky feel to it.Many users of the Hygieau machine report that skin problems such eczema clear up over a period of time.

The system has an automatic self cleaning system, it backwashes itself regularly to ensure the filters stay clean and efficent

Being Green and Rubbish

We are very green and eco friendly (we cycle to the bar for our coffee in the morning ), we have a recyclage corner for glass, carton, newspapers, plastic and tins so the minimium basic household rubbish is disposed in the " poubelle " situated 20m outside the entrance.Food waste can be fed to our hens or composted near our veg garden. There is a local farm "bio" shop which is just one field away selling fresh vegetables cheaper than market prices. To visit it you can follow Simon's track from the corner of the orchard a 5 minute walk or take the longer route by the road
